These elegant shakers are both pleasing to the eye and feel great in your hands and are useful for salt & pepper or fine spice seasoning.
 
Made from repurposed Canadian maple wood, each shaker is turned on our vintage wood lathe, then finely sanded and polished smooth. The exterior is then spray-finished with ultra-clear, environmentally friendly, water-based acrylic lacquer that both highlights the character of the wood and provides a durable, semi-gloss finish.
 
Being hand made, slight differences in wood grain and shape between shakers might be present, in effect making each set quite unique.
 
One shaker has three small holes in its top and the other has five holes. We find that using the three-hole shaker for salt and the five-hole shaker for pepper works best for us, though this is really a matter of your personal preference.
 
There is a removable rubber bung or plug in the bottom for easy refilling.
 
Each is approximately 4-1/4 inches (11 cm) tall and just over 1-1/2 inches (4 cm) in diameter.
 
The set of two shakers or, as an option, single shakers with either three or five holes in their tops can be selected from the “Number (Nombre)” drop-down menu.
 
To care for the shakers, simply wipe with a damp, non-abrasive cloth when needed, however, the wood should never be allowed to soak in water or be washed in the dishwasher or it will become damaged. If ever the small holes in the top become blocked with any of the spices being used, then gentle clearing of the holes can be done with the pointed end of a wooden toothpick.
