Our planters are made from natural Western Red Cedar from British Columbia that was harvested using sustainable forest management practices with PEFC certification (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).
 
Western Red Cedar is long lasting and is renowned for its natural resistance to moisture, decay, and insect damage. Each cedar planter is carefully handmade, using small amounts of waterproof, food-safe glue and corrosion-resistant galvanized steel fasteners.
 
The planter boxes are raised off the ground by about 2 ½ inches, with a slatted cedar bottom covered by a loose-fit geotextile fabric to permit water drainage and the sides of the planters are lined with an attached geotextile fabric to prevent any soil from leaking from the planters.   
 
These planters are available either unfinished or finished. Unfinished cedar will take on a silver hue over time. Finished planters have the exterior finished with natural tung oil.
 
We currently have three sizes that can be ordered then fabricated for you. These can be selected from the drop-down menu under “Size & Finish (Dimensions et finition)”:
 
15 inches tall by 3 ft Planters – are approximately 15 inches wide by 36 inches long by 15 inches deep and 21 inches tall, and will hold approximately 4.3 cubic ft (121 litres) of soil. Select either “3 ft long x 15 in wide x 18 in tall - no finish” for unfinished or ”3 ft long x 15 in wide x 18 in tall - tung finish” for finished with tung oil.
 
2 ft by 2 ft Planters – are approximately 25 inches wide by 25 inches long by 20 inches deep and 24 inches tall, and will hold approximately 5.3 cubic ft (151 litres) of soil when filled to a depth of 18 inches.  Select either “2 ft long x 2 ft wide x 2 ft tall - no finish” for unfinished or ” 2 ft long x 2 ft wide x 2 ft tall - tung finish” for finished with tung oil.
 
2 ft by 4 ft Planters – are approximately 25 inches wide by 50 inches long by 20 inches deep and 24 inches tall, and will hold approximately 11.3 cubic ft (320 litres) of soil when filled to a depth of 18 inches. Select either “4 ft long x 2 ft wide x 2 ft tall - no finish” for unfinished or ”4 ft long x 2 ft wide x 2 ft tall - tung finish” for finished with tung oil.

For these planters, a 50% deposit of the listed price of the piece is required to order it. Once the deposit payment has been processed, it will take about 2-3 weeks to fabricate the item, at which time Peter will contact you by e-mail. The second half of payment is then due.
