Inspiration for this bas relief came from a photo of the human figure. Both adults protect and guide the toddler as he or she takes their early steps. The big tree in the background symbolizes life. The roots stretch forward underneath the family grounding them as they walk forward through their lives. Human form is beautiful in all its variety and ages.
