Being a simple two-part sliding design, it is adjustable not only for viewing angles but also for varying thicknesses of books and tablets.  It features a support edge at the front of the bottom ledge of the stand so that the book will not slide off and the book will be held open at the pages you desire to view. Similarly, it has a notch at the front to pass the tablet charging wire through.
 
Sturdy, durable and relatively lightweight in use, it is also easy to store in a bookshelf or in a drawer by separating the two pieces and simply inserting the front support edge into the slot of the larger piece.
 
This solid, pine bookstand is finely sanded, polished and finished with wood stain, then spray-finished with ultra-clear, environmentally friendly, water-based acrylic lacquer that both highlights the character of the wood and provides a durable, semi-gloss finish.
