  • Also known as a Fish Priest, Billy, Club, Bat, Thumper, Wacker, Baton, Truncheon or Donger, this is a useful gift for yourself and other anglers.

Loved by anglers far and wide, this hardwood fish bonker is named “El Kabonk” in recognition of its intended use as a fishing tool.

This is an essential tool for any angler who wants to ensure that their catch is handled in a humane and responsible manner. By using this, anglers can help to protect fish populations, reduce suffering, and ensure that their catch is of the highest possible quality.

Designed with smooth lines to simplify cleaning, each is handmade by us from repurposed maple laminated together with waterproof glue that is carefully turned on our vintage wood lathe.

The ergonomic handle can accommodate up to quite large hands, with a pommel at the end and a guard/bolster at the other to make it easy to keep a firm grip during use. A black nylon paracord wrist lanyard attached to the handle is included for safety and can also be used to hang it on the wall.

It is finished with an easy-to-clean, marine spar urethane varnish that is specially formulated as a protective clear finish for exterior wood items exposed to sunlight, water, or temperature changes.

The “business end” (round bat/club portion) measures just shy of 7 inches (18 cm) in length.

Some slight variations in shape and/or size might occur because each hardwood fish bonker is individually turned by hand on our lathe. Also, since repurposed maple is used, some minor imperfections in the wood could be present.
